acrobatic stunts gone wrong
i graduated in 97. i left for college and left behind quite a few friends in my small home town. a lot of my friends were a year behind me in school. naturally when my neighbor and best friend suggested i come to town for the homecoming game the following year it seemed like a great idea! all of my friends would be at the game that i hadn't seen since graduation and i was really excited about seeing some of them. that night i took time to get ready, and look nice. my friend and i rode to the game together and naturally sat at the top of the bleachers. of course for us it was just a social event and didn't pay much attention to the game. the whole night i was up and down the bleachers chit chatting with friends, gossiping, telling them all about college, etc. the game came to an end and a group of us decided to all meet up to get ice cream/something to eat. the game ended and we excitedly get up to go as i 'run' down the bleachers i some how managed to lose my footing and started falling head first down the bleachers. instinctively i put my arms out and basically did a cart wheel down the bleachers and tumbled. and tumbled. and finally landed between to benches laying where people's feet go. one leg thrown over the bench below me and an arm thrown over the bench above me. all of my friends surround me and of course instead of asking if i was ok are laughing. and of course they arne't helping me up. all i can do at this point is laugh. next thing i know some random woman busts through the friends who have circled around me like moses parting the red sea and screams "ARE YOU OKAY!?" which of course sent me into uncontrollable laughter. i was really hoping no one had seen...... yes i realize that was a very false hope, but a girl can dream can't she? i managed to tell her yes i was fine, and finally a couple of friends helped me up. i wound up with an enormous bruise on my thigh that was black and purple, but other than that i somehow managed to walk away uninjured. we laughed about my 'cartwheel' for some time after that. hope you enjoyed yet another embarrassing moment in my life.
